The goal of the third place: To foster a local dynamic that enables local residents to get involved in transforming their community.
Objectives:
- Raise awareness and train people on the challenges and skills needed for an environmental and solidarity-based transition; promote solidarity, community spirit, and harmonious coexistence through the principles of permaculture
- Create and share human, technical, and logistical resources to foster the region’s food, social, and climate resilience
- Promote solidarity, conviviality, and harmonious coexistence through the principles of permaculture and the commons
- Support the City Hall and local cultural actors by organizing inclusive and environmentally friendly events
Since Château Escoffier has been unoccupied for several decades, its necessary restoration is also the first collaborative project at the third place (a training site using local materials and techniques). It will begin in August 2021 and will be documented through ongoing coverage of the work with photo reports on the third place’s website.
The values that unite us and define the identity of our project are: solidarity, the will to make things possible, equality, openness, and the common good.
