Description

The L'Arbre Third Place is located within a farmhouse typical of the Bessin region.

Our missions:

The co-living guesthouse: Here, travelers passing through, as well as those staying for longer periods, enjoy a pleasant, friendly place to stay in the countryside. The Vélomaritime and the D-Day Beaches to Mont Saint-Michel bike route pass right by L'Arbre: the perfect spot to experience the joys of bike touring!

The performance hall: Here, residents, vacationers, and visitors come to enjoy a varied agri-cultural program throughout the year. Beneath this beautiful exposed timber frame lies the beating heart of the cultural vitality of this third place. We offer shows, concerts, classes, workshops, and more—and above all, we continually promote an eco-friendly lifestyle!

Partner Farms: The GAEC 2000 dairy farm, Le Jardin de deux'main, Les Tambouilles... On these adjacent farms, we produce vegetables, fruits, eggs, and milk using organic farming methods.

Since March 2022, the L’Arbre Third Place has been a recipient of the national “Manufactures de proximité” call for projects, an initiative led by France Tiers-Lieux and the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion. Through “Manufactures de proximité,” the association is further expanding its activities focused on agroecology and sustainable food in collaboration with the hamlet’s vegetable and dairy farms.

The Community Grocery: Located within the farmers’ market Les Fermes de deux'main, the L’Arbre community space offers a grocery section. Healthy, local, and organic products are available for purchase during regular store hours on Tuesdays (4:00 PM–7:00 PM) and Fridays (4:00 PM–6:00 PM)

THE PROJECT: The Object Library

After two years of planning the object library and organizing participatory work projects, it’s time for the BIG COLLECTION to build the catalog of items that will be available for borrowing starting this winter.

Why are we asking for donations? Because we all have items at home that are rarely or never used and could be shared. This is the most eco-friendly way to stock the Object Library.
