We are an organization dedicated to taking action and carrying out projects focused on the environment, biodiversity, and protecting the planet in our region.
To this end, we carry out simple initiatives such as litter cleanup days along the banks of the Loire or in our natural areas, but we also undertake more practical actions, such as group hikes. We also aim to plant three micro-forests per year with the help of local residents and collective effort. Planting is at the heart of our association. We plant native species capable of withstanding climate change on public land in partnership with local governments and schools, as well as on private property.
Our goal through these actions is to encourage everyone to take action and realize that change is within everyone’s reach.
Our Initiatives
Micro-forest plantings (1,500 trees)
Every year since 2022, we have planted at least 3 to 4 micro-forests. These plantings are carried out using tree species capable of withstanding climate change.
Discovery Hikes
During these hikes, we meet and exchange ideas with other organizations about protecting our environment.
Workshops
Les Pics Verts de la Loire organizes and participates in numerous workshops (2 per month) focused on food and energy, using low-tech methods to build solar ovens and rocket stoves, for example.
These workshops are designed and offered by members based on their interests and expertise.
