To achieve an ecological and inclusive transition, we must build an alliance between the social and solidarity economy (SSE) and the Commons.

Founded in 2016, La Coop des Communs brings together a community of individuals, practitioners, and researchers dedicated to “commons of solidarity” that combine the philosophy and practices of the commons with the rich and diverse experience of the social and solidarity economy (SSE).

The purpose of La Coop des Communs is to enable the emergence and strengthening of initiatives and movements that are part of this commons dynamic, drawing on the long and complex experience of the social and solidarity economy, with the aim of fostering the sustainability of the social, economic, and cultural organizational model they collectively represent. This is achieved by fostering an open, cross-sectoral community of people working on the interrelationships between actors and between actors and tools, as well as through action-research projects and programs bringing together practitioners and researchers.

To strengthen the commons’ capacity to “form a system,” the association operates through three areas of action, within a French framework enriched by numerous international exchanges:

· to shed light on, theorize, and map,

· fostering an open, cross-disciplinary learning community between the commons and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE)

· supporting the collective development of community members through “action research”-style working groups
