Supporting stakeholders in the events, cultural, and sports sectors in their ecological and social transition.

Aremacs is a nonprofit organization established in 2004. That year, two friends with a passion for electronic music festivals and extreme sports competitions made two observations: while these events foster values, education, and cultural exchange, they also have negative environmental impacts, particularly regarding waste management. To keep the venues clean, they began hanging out trash bags and picking up waste. This had two consequences:

• Proving to event organizers that it was possible to manage waste properly
• Engaging the public through action and raising awareness about environmental protection

This marked the birth of the Association for Environmental Respect at Cultural and Sporting Events: AREMACS.

Our mission: 

Today, 1,000 volunteers and 35 staff members keep the association running. Each year, thanks to their commitment, we reach over 3 million people and support more than 200 events. 

For 20 years now, Aremacs has been contributing to the ecological and social transition by mobilizing the event, cultural, and sports sectors toward eco-responsibility. We promote citizen engagement and awareness in a positive and inclusive way, in the public interest.
