Support the creation of a leading center for permaculture

For the sake of our food security and the health of the Earth, there is a need to reforest agricultural land using the forest garden concept.

THE JARDINS DE RELIANCE ASSOCIATION AIMS TO HELP CREATE A LEADING PERMACULTURE SPACE

To experiment with methods of soil regeneration, grow organic matter, and create a leading space in permaculture.

SUSTAINING THE ÉTANGS FOREST GARDEN FOR THE COMING YEARS:

• Hosting interns, volunteers, and the general public to learn about the regenerative soil system.
• Monitoring the 550 trees: grafting, mulching, weeding, pruning, and sowing green manure.
• Planting other layers with vines, shrubs, and small trees.
• Introducing chickens to the orchard as predators, building a mobile chicken coop.
• Creating a processing workshop and a storage area.
• Creation of introductory sessions on reforestation of agricultural land using the forest garden concept, open to the general public.
• Development of tours and technical visits with the creation of technical fact sheets on the species and varieties planted at the Jardin-Forêt des Étangs (JAFE).
• Establishment of Agricultural Civil Societies: 1 hectare, 1 purchasing collective, 1 farmer.
• Communication on the need to reforest agricultural land using the forest garden concept. To this end, creation of communication tools.
• Soil analysis and testing with a laboratory.
• Training needs: on tree pruning and planting, soil microbiology, and permaculture certification.
• Purchase of small equipment: broadfork hoes, small chainsaw, planting stick.
• Purchase of a solar oven and a solar dryer.
