A Community Grocery Store for Uzès and the Surrounding Area
A community grocery store has opened its doors in Saint-Siffret, in a temporary location on Place de la Cave Coopérative. This service, intended for residents of the Pays d’Uzès facing financial hardship, is open every Friday afternoon.
An essential service at the heart of the community
In response to growing demand for food assistance, this community grocery store is part of an effort to provide local support and meet residents’ needs. It enables those facing financial hardship to access food and hygiene products at a lower cost, while preserving their dignity.
40 families visit the community
grocery store This is a commitment the establishment takes particularly seriously, and it is ready to get involved in other causes, as well as humanitarian and social initiatives. This support is also praised by the Municipality of Uzès and the Pays d’Uzès Community of Municipalities. “There is real financial insecurity in the area; it’s truly a plus to have sponsors joining the project,” adds Fabrice Verdier. In fact, about forty families visit the community grocery store every Friday afternoon.
