Bringing together a wide range of stakeholders—including students, activists, organizations, and partners—has made it possible to develop an innovative project with a variety of activities: waste reduction, combating housing insecurity, promoting sustainable consumption and mobility, and more… Through its activities, the association fosters intergenerational connections between campus stakeholders and local residents, while combating the isolation of vulnerable groups through awareness-raising activities, participatory and solidarity-based workshops, and the organization of events.
In addition to recycling items from the Ressourcerie, Etu’Récup organizes bicycle workshops to encourage the use of alternative modes of transportation by offering everyone the opportunity to acquire a bicycle, learn how to ride it, and be able to repair it. As these workshops have become increasingly successful, the association opened its Maison du Vélo et des Mobilités in 2018, on campus and in Pessac. The center has diversified its activities, offering opportunities to build confidence on a bike through its bike school program and bike code markings, and serving as a local hub for the Bordeaux Métropole bike-sharing program.
Year after year, the organization continues to grow and promote sustainable lifestyles throughout the Talence, Pessac, Gradignan, and Bordeaux campus areas.
