Regional Incubator for Social and Environmental Innovation

The Occitanie-Méditerranée Regional Union of SCOPs became involved in the field of social innovation as early as 2006 through the European Social Fund’s EQUAL program. 

It created Alter'Incub, the first regional social innovation incubator, which was launched in July 2007 with the support of the Languedoc-Roussillon Region (now the Occitanie-Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region),  government agencies through the mobilization of the ERDF, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, and AVISE. 

Alter'Incub supports

• project teams or individual project leaders* wishing to create a socially innovative enterprise 
• nonprofits seeking to establish a new legal structure or convert it into a cooperative
• local governments seeking to address an unmet need in their area 
• a research team in the Humanities and Social Sciences seeking to monetize the results of their work

*Profiles may vary: employees, students, job seekers, etc.

Eligibility criteria 

• Your project addresses a social and/or environmental need, and you aim to make an impact in your region
• You are pursuing an entrepreneurial initiative and plan to establish your business in Aude (11), Hérault (34), Gard (30), Lozère (48), or Pyrénées-Orientales (66)
• Your project has real potential in terms of job creation (beyond your own employment)
