Desertification is a global phenomenon affecting nearly half of the Earth’s surface. This book aims to provide an overview of current knowledge and initiatives regarding the management of desertification issues. It draws on findings, experiences, techniques, and other data from scientific research, as well as traditional practices and knowledge acquired over the past fifty years. It offers recommendations based on this information to optimize the strategies and performance of programs and projects under the “Great Green Wall Initiative.” It is intended for researchers, hydrologists, ecologists, and agronomists, as well as developers and planners involved in programs to combat desertification. A CD-ROM containing all the contributions, along with two additional documents, is included with the book.
