Description

OUR MISSION:

We are a French nonprofit organization working for environmental and social justice by restoring the precious balance between forests and people. To protect forests and live in harmony, we have been working for over 15 years to regenerate our connection with the forest by understanding it and laying the groundwork for this coexistence.

Cœur de Forêt works on the ground, alongside local communities, to eradicate forest degradation at its root, empowering everyone to take action for their preservation.

Convinced that an alternative to deforestation is possible, we support local communities in pursuing economic development that preserves forests and promotes human development. We reject preconceived notions and do not hesitate to think outside the box to build solutions tailored to the realities of the challenges at hand. Our priority is to take concrete action on the ground to create, together, the momentum for positive change.

OUR PROJECTS

Drawing on our field expertise, we develop our own projects in France and internationally. We are currently active in four countries worldwide, focusing on reforestation and economic development initiatives: in Bolivia, Madagascar, Indonesia, and, since spring 2017, in France. As the association’s country of origin, we have also been conducting public awareness campaigns there since our founding in 2005.

We coordinate all our projects from our headquarters in Noisy-le-Grand (Ile-de-France). Each of our projects is carried out by Franco-local teams with whom we communicate daily to monitor objectives and track project progress.
