LES INFUSÉES: Today I am a "Farmer by Nature" and participate in various programs to study and promote biodiversity on the site.
THE GARDEN
The total area is 4 hectares, including:
-Over one hectare of apple orchard planted using biodynamic methods in 1983 and now left to grow wild.
-6,000 m² of aromatic and medicinal plants
The vast majority of the aromatic plants are perennials and remain in place for several years.
Long crop rotations are practiced to maintain good soil balance.
Cuttings and seedlings are produced on the farm.
NATURAL AREAS
I have chosen to let just over 1.5 hectares of an old orchard evolve freely. This creates a mosaic of habitats conducive to the establishment of beneficial insects that are so valuable to me. The powerful roots also provide valuable water retention for my crops. Maintaining the hedges and orchard allows me to harvest firewood and fresh wood chips to amend my crops at the end of the rotation.
