Description

Welcome to the blog of the La Main Verte association!

We grow vegetables, fruit, and friendships in Montpellier’s Petit Bard and La Pergola neighborhoods.

The La Main Verte association aims to bring neighborhood residents together through community engagement and strengthen social bonds among them through the cultivation of shared gardens.

The Montpellier Main Verte program offers activities to learn how to garden or gain a better understanding of the city’s green spaces, natural areas, and local biodiversity.

  • Gardening Workshops

Each workshop focuses on seasonal tasks while highlighting a specific theme. Workshops take place in the city’s community gardens as well as on a dedicated plot in the family gardens.

  • Nature Outings

Come discover the city’s flora and fauna during a stroll through Montpellier’s parks and natural areas.

Organized by the City of Montpellier, the Montpellier Main Verte activities are led by Le Passe Muraille, the CPIE-APIEU Territoires de Montpellier, and the Ecologistes de l’Euzière. Free activities, open to everyone, no registration required.

  • Biodiversity observation networks

The City of Montpellier is implementing numerous biodiversity observation programs to help residents become experts in the field.

  • Raising Awareness of Biodiversity

Environmental education and sustainable development are priorities for the City of Montpellier and the Metropolitan Area. It’s never too early to talk about ecology and encourage children to get involved. Recycling...

  • Caring for Trees

The City of Montpellier has drafted a Tree Charter to outline best practices for restoring nature’s prominent place in the city. This guide is intended for decision-makers, project owners, project managers, landscape architects...
