The Papiers de l’Espoir association is, above all, a simple and generous idea: VOLUNTEERS collect used paper—which has become unnecessary and takes up space—from COMPANIES, ORGANIZATIONS, and LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
This collected paper is sold to companies that specialize in recycling it. The funds raised in this way finance humanitarian and educational projects in France and in developing countries.
One ton of paper, for example, can fund 20 schoolbooks. In 2023, the work of Papiers de l’Espoir (covering an area of approximately 70 km around Nantes) enabled the organization to contribute to and support the education of 20,000 children.
Thanks to the dedication of its 207 volunteers, the association collects this paper from local governments, private companies, and organizations, then sells it to companies specializing in recycling.
