La Chorba was founded on a simple observation: the number of people struggling to put food on the table is growing, while our consumer-driven system generates staggering amounts of food waste every day. It all began with the goal of bridging the gap between people in dire need and food that is still safe to eat.
26 years later, it is a remarkable human chain that works tirelessly every day to make all these efforts possible. This includes more than 2,000 volunteers, 17 permanent staff members, and 30 employees in vocational integration programs. People from very different social, geographic, and cultural backgrounds who form an incredible melting pot.
