Nature conservation and greater environmental awareness in Alsace.

Since 1965, Alsace Nature has been advocating for nature conservation and greater environmental awareness in Alsace. For over 50 years, our association and its network have been dedicated to maintaining conditions that support the conservation and development of biodiversity across all natural and built environments. Alsace Nature relies primarily on the volunteer work of hundreds of active members.

Alsace Nature is a non-profit, non-partisan association, accredited by the government for environmental protection (1978) and recognized as serving the public interest (1994).

Our actions:

• Alsace Nature raises public awareness, educates, and informs about the need to preserve and promote the protection of nature and the environment.
  Our nature and environmental education program is designed for all audiences: schoolchildren, the general public, specialized groups, businesses, elected officials, members, and volunteers… It includes nature outings, explorations of natural habitats, nature projects, waste collection drives, training sessions…
• Alsace Nature monitors, alerts the public, and takes daily action on all issues requiring urgent intervention: pollution, the protection of endangered species, the preservation of remarkable sites, and more. This includes advocacy efforts, local environmental monitoring networks, tracking cases of environmental damage, and legal actions.
• Alsace Nature brings together nature conservation associations and serves as the movement’s voice before public authorities, elected officials, the media, and civil society… The association collaborates with local governments, businesses, and other organizations to implement concrete actions in regulatory protection, ecological management (green spaces, natural areas, or built environments), or any other form of support aimed at promoting biodiversity and facilitating adaptation to climate change.
