The association promotes improved cycling conditions so that every cyclist can choose to travel safely, efficiently, and comfortably throughout the Occitanie region.
To achieve this goal:
- It maintains an ongoing dialogue with mobility stakeholders throughout the Occitanie Region: Government agencies, public institutions, local authorities (Regional Council, Departmental Councils, Metropolitan Areas, Communities of Communes and Urban Areas, Municipalities), transportation companies, and user representatives
- It promotes regular sharing of knowledge and expertise among Occitan cycling associations.
- It focuses on the following priorities:
- creating a high-quality, continuous, and comfortable cycling network for everyday cyclists and cycle tourists at the regional level, both in urban areas and in rural areas
- promote intermodality between cycling and public transit through the development of bike racks, secure bike parking, and bike rental services
- institutionalize dialogue around cycling
- support the development of local associations
- develop bicycle services
- Develop secure bicycle parking and combat bicycle theft
- make cycling accessible to everyone
- support the creation of cycling schools
- adapt national pro-cycling projects and campaigns from various partner networks (FUB, AF3V, CODEP, etc.) to the regional level
- engage in dialogue on interregional connections
and any other actions that help develop a cycling culture and build a bike-friendly Occitanie Region for the benefit of everyone.
