Inventory of local eco-materials for construction/renovation

Our region is rich in natural resources that are currently largely underutilized (wood, cork, straw, earth, etc.), which nevertheless hold significant potential—as our ancestors have demonstrated—and are gaining renewed interest thanks to technical advancements and, above all, because their use addresses climate and energy challenges (eco-friendly and low-carbon materials, revitalization of agricultural and forestry sectors, reduction in energy consumption, etc.) and, in this sense, to the new building regulations (RE2020).

This project aims to compile an inventory of available local resources, their potential uses, and the stakeholders capable of implementing them, in order to facilitate their use. This information will be compiled into a print and digital guide to be published shortly.

  • Connecting local stakeholders
  • Frugal and sustainable management
  • Use of local resources
  • Reduction of CO2 emissions

Origin of the project

This project originated within the energy working group of the association La Vallée du Gapeau en Transition. This working group notably led to the creation of the Permabita association, which continues the initiative by coordinating a network and establishing a platform for local eco-materials.

Project funded to the tune of €39,566.97 under the LEADER program in Provence Verte Sainte-Baume (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe invests in rural areas – EAFRD).
