Description

In Crémines, in the Bernese Jura, approximately 8 hectares of the “Trois Tilleuls” and “Petite Fin” pastures—listed in the inventory of dry grasslands and pastures of national importance—have been becoming heavily overgrown for years due to the decline of agriculture. To prevent this exceptional habitat from disappearing, Pro Natura has launched a project to restore the site. The goat herd on which the project relies is managed by a young farmer who is highly motivated by this collaboration.

Additional information

Pro Natura is Switzerland’s oldest nature conservation organization. We love nature, defend its interests, and give it a strong voice. The natural diversity of animals, plants, and habitats must be preserved and promoted!

With the support of its local chapters and more than 3,000 volunteers, Pro Natura rolls up its sleeves and gets to work. We are constantly working on some 250 projects that allow us to actively support nature in every region of Switzerland.

Pro Natura focuses its efforts on protecting natural habitats and rare species, helping nature thrive. Our projects include creating amphibian ponds beneath power lines, restoring wetlands, organizing participatory activities for children, and developing a vision for the Three-Lakes Region.
