La Fourmilière is a nonprofit organization that promotes reconnection with nature to support ecological and social transition by building relationships and partnerships with local stakeholders in the Vivarais region.
The organization runs a forest school and a nature club, offers weekend nature outings for children and adults, and organizes nature camps and activities for seminars in partnership with the Gîte des Blaches and the eco-venue Grain&Sens!
Every day, we become the École du Dehors.
For the 2025–2026 school year, we are welcoming 29 students from Cycle 1 to Cycle 3 (preschool through 4th grade).
In the morning, the students are divided into three groups: preschool, Cycle 2, and Cycle 3.
Each group has a designated adult supervisor. In the afternoon, Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 are combined.
The small number of children per group allows us to address each child’s individual needs
Nature-based education is at the heart of our educational program. A significant portion of learning takes place outdoors.
During these sessions, the child (and the adult) immerses themselves in the surrounding natural environment and interacts with it. Through observation and exploration, they develop a deep understanding of the flora and fauna around them.
The agroecological vegetable garden is also an important part of the curriculum.
Motivated by a desire to share nature-based education with as many people as possible, we offer themed and customizable nature immersion programs, in both French and English.
