Description

Our mission: to defend and protect water quality and aquatic environments.

Our missions

As a regional non-profit organization under the French Law of 1901, Eau et Rivières de Bretagne works to restore and protect water resources and aquatic environments. It operates along four main lines of action.

EDUCATE to foster eco-citizenship

Eau & Rivières addresses your concerns: biodiversity, pesticides, wetlands, water conservation, waste, sustainable agriculture, green algae, global warming, flooding…

  • through the actions of its local chapters
  • through its magazine and website
  • through its symposia, conferences, technical workshops...

RAISE AWARENESS to better protect

  • through educational programs tailored to both students and the general public
  • by developing public awareness campaigns
  • by creating and distributing educational materials (booklets, exhibits, hiking guides...)
  • by managing the public aquarium for nature lovers

GET INVOLVED to make your voice—and nature’s—heard

  • in public surveys and consultations
  • on regional or local committees
  • at the association’s booths

at events and protests

OUR ACTIONS

- Gardening and Agriculture Festival

- Inauguration of a rain garden in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer

- In the spring, garden with the kids!

- The “Des Curieux de Nature” Aquarium lets you dive into the cool waters of Brittany’s rivers and reveals the intimate world of their inhabitants—no mask or snorkel needed to explore the rivers!  Created at the initiative of the Eau & Rivières de Bretagne association and the municipality of Belle-Isle en Terre, the “Aquarium for Nature Lovers” aims to introduce visitors to the flora and fauna of our region’s rivers.
