Difficulty level :
Located in the southern part of Haute-Garonne, in the Bas-Comminges region, and 4 km from Le Fousseret, La Piboulade covers one hectare.
A small stream winds through the center of the property, with a wooded area on the right bank and a meadow on the left.
The association’s mission is to create a forest garden with ecological, educational, economic, social, and therapeutic purposes, through:
• experimenting with agricultural techniques that promote regenerative systems,
• promoting initiatives focused on training, expertise, and natural and cultural diversity,
• participating in a local and solidarity-based economy,
• fostering social connections through mutual aid, solidarity, and the development of initiatives for the common good,
• raising awareness about “self-care” and “natural health” in connection with wild and cultivated plants.
A forest garden?
… an edible forest or agroforestry is a land-use system combining trees and crops.
Among its many benefits: protection of soil and groundwater, and the development of microclimates and biodiversity.
Our projects:
Recovery of trees, shrubs, and bushy plants: seeking species that are preferably hardy, wild, local, and heirloom varieties for the creation of a hedgerow, rural landscape, fruit-bearing, and honey-producing garden.
Recovery of materials: wood, pallets, sheet metal, firebricks, bricks, scrap metal, water tanks and collectors, pipes, cans, cisterns, etc.
Recycling of gardening tools: wheelbarrow, bucket, garden hose, watering can, hand tools: gloves, pruning shears, shears, brush cutter, saw, scythe, sickle, shovel, pickaxe, broadfork, trowel, rake, pitchfork, brooms, garden claw, hoe, hand hoe, rake, transplanting trowel, knife, pot, trash can…
Hedge creation: A hedge that is rustic, multi-layered, windbreak, flowering, honey-producing, edible.
In short, diverse!
