BIOWASTE COLLECTION FOR BUSINESSES
As of January 1, 2024, all businesses and households are required to sort their biowaste. It goes without saying that this waste should enrich the soil, not end up in landfills.
OUR INITIATIVES: Bicycle-trailer collection service and organic waste composting:
SCHOOL COLLECTION Until September 2023, schools in Bergerac did not sort their food waste. More than 30 metric tons of food waste were sent to landfills annually.
OUR INITIATIVES:
Since the start of the 2023 school year, the City of Bergerac has committed to the separate management of food waste from all its schools. L’Attache Rapide provides support to cafeteria staff, supplies clean bins, and handles collection and composting.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES · Games: The Compost Cycle (beginner, intermediate, and expert levels), “The Hidden Life of Soils” Happy Families game, “Compost Memory” game, “Le Gaspi’rale”
game· Educational tour: From Garden to Plate (a three-hour activity focused on composting and gardening), including a
“Compost Digging” workshop· A lunchtime food waste weighing campaign to estimate food waste, with options for reporting and implementing an action plan
COMPOSTING FOR RESIDENTS L’Attache Rapide offers residents of Bergerac solutions for composting in their neighborhoods in Jean Moulin and downtown, Monday through Friday
