Difficulty level :
The Recyclo1000 association is a "solidarity-based donation initiative" that "collects, repurposes, and raises public awareness about the fight against waste and the protection of resources."
It is a nonprofit association under the French Law of 1901, recognized as being in the public interest and contributing to the preservation of the natural environment, and is run by volunteers.
To this end, the organization provides a space open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
A giveaway area: you can drop off or pick up items that are in working condition. We accept any item in good condition: dishes, decorative items, books, magazines, toys, baby care items, clothing, linens, gardening supplies, office supplies...except for bulky furniture (please email us a photo so we can find someone to take it).
Donations must be dropped off and put away inside (a small self-managed space), in our shared library, or in the other sections—“dishes and decor,” “clothing and shoes,” “kids,” etc.
-House and Business Clearouts: We can also come to collect items within a 10-km radius of Fuveau to help with “house or business clearouts.”
A food section where unsold items from our partner retailers are shared with our most disadvantaged members, along with group orders for organic products.
Volunteer members make daily pickups from partner stores or producers and bring unsold items (such as baked goods, fruits, and vegetables from supermarkets—the selection varies by day) to the center.
These items are then redistributed to the most disadvantaged members (subject to means testing, with a calculation of disposable income) in exchange for a minimum contribution of 50 euro cents per kilogram to cover organizational and storage costs.
Group orders:
Available to all members, group orders are organized every two months through an organic wholesaler (Probabio) and delivered to the community center, allowing members to purchase organic products at attractive prices.
“Ma Terre est belle” Creative Workshop: These are “creative upcycling” workshops for children—zero-waste and virtually free—that use natural materials collected at home or at the Recyclo1000 community center (old books, magazines, twigs, pinecones, fabric, bottles, bottle caps, etc.) to raise awareness about reducing waste and the beauty of our planet.
Total weight of donations and collected items since late 2015: 235 metric tons
