The Ecolieu du Plan du Pont association is developing a community-based permaculture project in the Plan du Pont valley. More than just a community garden, our association promotes ecological and agricultural transition and ensures access to healthy, local produce for as many people as possible.
Three years ago, in the Plan du Pont plain in Hyères, a few friends founded Ecolieu based on a slightly crazy idea: to create a collective permaculture production area to feed the community and foster a sense of togetherness!
Today, the Ecolieu du Plan du Pont boasts 150 members, 90 fruit trees, and 1 hectare of vegetable garden, thanks to 10 participatory projects per year and 2 weekly gatherings bringing together a variety of partners such as young farmers, a herd of goats, organizations fighting food insecurity or raising awareness about environmental issues…
We have many projects in the pipeline (planting a community orchard with 1,000 fruit trees, setting up a community kitchen, creating a biodiversity observatory, etc.)
