Difficulty level :
In France, most companies have chosen to organize themselves collectively through eco-organizations approved by the government, such as CITEO. In practical terms, by joining CITEO, you transfer your responsibility to us in exchange for a financial contribution. It is through your membership in CITEO that the overall system for the collection, sorting, and recycling of your packaging and paper, as well as the development of reuse initiatives, is funded in France.
Becoming a CITEO client also means benefiting from the support of our experts and all our tools and services to help you eco-design your paper and packaging, accurately communicate the environmental characteristics of your products to your customers, and anticipate the consequences of increasingly stringent French and European regulations.
CITEO Household Packaging and Paper is an eco-organization created in 1992 by companies in the consumer goods and retail sectors to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging and paper products. Since 2020, we have held the status of a non-profit mission-driven company
To accelerate the circular economy on a large scale, we are in constant dialogue with public authorities and institutional stakeholders. Among our objectives? Establishing a stable, sustainable, and ambitious regulatory framework to enable economic actors to successfully transition their production, distribution, and consumption models.
Our actions to accelerate the circular economy:
- Reducing the environmental impact of household packaging and graphic paper through eco-design
- Developing reuse by creating new shared and national loops
