Bird Conservation and Biodiversity

The LPO Occitanie (League for the Protection of Birds) is a regional branch of the LPO France network,  whose mission is to act on behalf of birds, wildlife, nature, and people, and to combat the decline of biodiversity through knowledge, protection, education, and citizen engagement

The LPO is now the leading nature conservation organization in France, with 70,000 members, 8,000 volunteers, and 650 staff members.
It is the French representative of BirdLife International, a global alliance present in 120 countries.

The LPO is a recognized expert in nature management and conservation at the regional level.
An integral part of the effort to preserve species and habitats, the association is also active in the areas of public awareness, environmental and sustainable development education, and professional training.
In this new regional territory, the LPO is the preferred partner of local stakeholders concerned with ecological issues.
LPO Occitanie thus supports regional and local authorities, businesses, and individuals… to enhance knowledge of nature and the preservation of biodiversity.
