DEDH is dedicated to biodiversity conservation, public awareness, and environmental education. The organization prioritizes the conservation of elephant species and their ecosystems and works to improve coexistence between humans and elephants.
The association Des Éléphants & des Hommes has been working since 2003 to improve human-elephant coexistence and emphasizes the importance of environmental and conservation education, while developing other concrete actions aimed at making cohabitation with elephants more harmonious
Projects in LAOS
A meaningful educational experience in the heart of nature is a powerful way to foster a connection that can guide young people toward an ecological mindset.
The modular exhibition “The Elephant Caravan” is available for rent. Proceeds from its operation are donated to elephant conservation efforts.
DEDH supports the protection of Laos’s protected natural areas by funding forest rangers and establishing income-generating activities for local communities.
The return of elephants to the wild is one of DEDH’s main objectives. It contributes to the genetic enrichment of the wild population.
DEDH supports scientific research projects conducted in Laos by the Department of Biology and Endocrinology at the Elephant Conservation Center.
DEDH supports the team of forest rangers who patrol the Nam Pouy National Protected Area in Laos, home to the country’s second herd of wild elephants.
