Agróno²mo'tour: Exploring and Comparing Organic Farming Systems in Europe
Agrono²mo'tour is an organization that helps you explore the world of agriculture in Europe! The organization’s first project is to explore and compare organic farming systems in France, Switzerland, and Austria.
Who are we?
We are two students on a gap year at the Institut Agro Dijon who share a keen interest
in sustainable agriculture and are driven by a desire to restore the image of agriculture in France.
Objective
To explore and compare organic farming models in three European countries: France, Switzerland, and Austria. This will be achieved through two-week internships on organic farms, as well as meetings with groups of farmers and stakeholders in the organic sector.
Noémie completed a five-month internship in Mexico in agroecology, focusing on MILPA corn cultivation. This experience provided her with significant insights into the relationship with the land and marketing, and her goal is now to compare these aspects with the European reality. According to her, the issue of organic farming sparks a lot of controversy in France, which is why it’s important to compare our organic system with that of our neighbors to explore avenues for change.
As for Nora, she went to Ecuador to study the impact of fair trade on cocoa producers.
Our internships in Mexico and Ecuador reinforced our belief that it is possible to produce differently.
We want to discover and help others discover how we in Europe can also produce differently within a different climatic and geopolitical context
These encounters have been a major source of inspiration, and she is excited about the prospect of meeting European producers who work with respect for the environment. Her goal in this project is to raise the profile of European organic agriculture stakeholders, in order to shed light on how they operate and the obstacles they face.
