2tonnes is an immersive and educational workshop that empowers participants to become active agents of the low-carbon transition!
Over the course of three hours, the 2tonnes workshop invites participants to explore the future in teams of 6 to 15 people, and to try to limit climate change by achieving 2 tons of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions per person per year by 2050, in order to meet the commitments of the Paris Agreement.
All of this is done in an interactive and personalized way thanks to a web platform that allows participants to visualize the impacts of their decisions in real time!
To foster a systemic understanding of the challenges, the workshop addresses the individual and collective dimensions of the issue, planetary boundaries, and social issues, while also highlighting the role of influence—a key factor in the low-carbon transition.
Through an innovative educational model, participants will generate ideas for concrete solutions that can be implemented at various levels by comparing the impact of numerous individual and collective measures.
At the individual level, they will work on their own carbon footprint, having calculated it prior to the workshop.
At the national level, they will have the opportunity to take on the roles of public and private decision-makers (government, businesses, local elected officials) and test various governance models to make the right decisions!
AGENDA:
1. FORM
5–10 minutes to complete your individual carbon footprint assessment in advance
2. INTRODUCTION
Presentation of the causes and consequences of climate change and the climate action framework; quiz on key concepts related to the carbon footprint and the doughnut economy.
3. SIMULATION
8 alternating rounds of individual and collective actions to simulate the evolution of emissions through 2050, with insights into co-benefits and points of tension regarding social and environmental issues.
4. DEBRIEFING
Interpretation of results, key takeaways, brainstorming sessions to devise new actions, followed by an inspiring conclusion.
5. ACTION!
Each participant accesses their dashboard after the workshop and makes commitments to take action and become an agent of the transition!
