Description

The Pierre et Terre Eco-Center and Community Center is:

An educational and demonstration center focused on water and nature, sustainable living, and responsible consumption.  Open year-round, with free admission, providing community services in a rural setting, offering: meetings, workshops, exhibitions, lectures, film screenings with discussions, and operating in a semi-mobile manner (off-site) to meet the needs of the local community.

An audience of over 5,000 people each year, 40% of whom are young people (children and teenagers), and 60% adults with highly diverse backgrounds:  more than 200 families, as well as associations, local authorities, elected officials, and businesses, leading to interactions with over 170 different organizations (schools, high schools, city halls, cooperatives, etc.).

A program with over 100 events throughout the year and highlights during themed weeks aligned with major national, European, or global days dedicated to key ESD topics.  Customized sessions to support projects, particularly in the areas of sustainable housing, energy conservation, and household water management.

As part of a network, the Ecocentre participates in and facilitates several networks for exchange and consultation at the national, regional, and local levels,  with a specific focus on promoting initiatives among social workers and cultural actors through the Spirale association, which is based at the Ecocentre. It disseminates and shares the expertise developed through the regular publication of booklets, articles, and videos…

Our activities are structured around three main pillars: information, programming, and training, as well as support for project leaders.

  • Informing the public about existing eco-friendly alternatives through guided tours, permanent and temporary exhibitions, a specialized bookstore…
  • Conducting educational sessions and offering theoretical and practical training to young people, school groups, adults, and others to promote understanding of various topics: eco-construction, ecological gardening, renewable energy, responsible consumption, and waste reduction
  • Supporting project leaders in healthy housing and ecological sanitation. Individuals, local authorities, non-profits…  The Ecocenter supports you at every stage of your project, whether it involves new construction, renovation, wastewater treatment using wood chip filters, installation of dry toilets, water and energy conservation…
