Description

The purpose of the Domaine d’Échoisy Residents’ Association is to provide families who wish to commit to a community-oriented lifestyle, with a focus on minimizing their environmental impact, the opportunity to organize themselves into an eco-hamlet. It is understood that the housing units available to the association are reserved exclusively for its members and subscribers.

The Association of Residents of Domaine d’Échoisy is bound by a long-term lease to the SCIC. It welcomes “permanent residents” and “temporary residents” who come to discover life in an ecovillage.

Residents contribute fully to the experimentation and dynamics of both the site and the local community.

The association commits, together with its member-residents, to:

  • actively participate in establishing a shared and supportive way of life in the hamlet
  • put humanist and ecological principles into practice there,
  • contribute to the ecological renovation of historic heritage and the construction of resilient buildings aimed at reducing carbon footprint, on the Domaine d’Échoisy in Cellettes,
  • raise awareness of this approach through eco-tourism hospitality in the form of immersive stays.

The Association’s main activities are:

  • Participation in study and action-research projects focused on ecological housing and the eco-hamlet lifestyle,
  • Ecological renovation, respecting the historical character of residential buildings that are part of our historical heritage,
  • Construction of reversible, ecological, and resilient housing,
  • Sharing knowledge and expertise through self-build initiatives and participatory construction projects,
  • Sharing of certain utility spaces and resources to limit the impact associated with individual lifestyles,
