Le Bar Commun is A FRIENDLY PLACE OF SOLIDARITY, REFLECTION, AND ACTION!
It is also A TEST BED FOR A SOCIETY WHERE EVERYONE FIND THEIR PLACE.
Today, the Bar Commun has nearly 250 active volunteers and over 3,200 members.
Joining the Bar Commun means becoming part of a community: meeting new people, participating in activities, discussing ideas together… and if you feel so inclined, becoming an active member to contribute to the Bar’s activities for a few hours a week or a month: working behind the counter, organizing events…

Le Bar commun is an association run exclusively by volunteers. What makes our model unique is that we have no paid staff and receive no subsidies. This means freedom, autonomy, and accountability.
THE COUNTERS: small groups to accomplish great things together
To organize the day-to-day operations of Le Bar Commun, volunteers come together in “Comptoirs”—small groups that can be permanent or ad hoc, thematic or cross-cutting, preparing a collective decision or resolving a specific technical issue.
Indeed, at the Bar, everything is decided and done collectively, and there’s something for everyone…
Each Comptoir chooses the operating model that best suits its activities, as well as its communication methods and internal decision-making processes.
Regular activities at the Bar
Otherwise, a wide variety of activities (lectures, cooking, music, singing, concerts, job placement assistance, etc.)
HOURS:
Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Thursday: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Friday: 5:00 PM – midnight
Saturday: 10:00 AM – midnight
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
