This association (under the 1901 law) aims to create and sustain a place for meetings and exchanges, driven by a collective effort, centered around a café-restaurant located in the Servenoble neighborhood. In September 2017, a group of about sixty residents of Villefontaine and the surrounding towns formed a collective association named “La Caravane des Possibles” to create a community-run café-restaurant that will be managed by volunteers. Its goal is to foster social interaction and promote social and generational diversity. In early 2019, we responded to the call for proposals launched by the municipality to create a “solidarity bistro” in Servenoble. The Caravane des Possibles’ proposal was selected to bring this project to life.
A community-run, participatory, and eco-friendly café—what does that mean?
A café: a place where people can gather, relax, and build social connections.
The café is open Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday.
In February 2020, the “Roue Libre” association was founded to carry out the cultural and community program. Roue Libre offers various artistic activities (exhibitions, performances, etc.) and educational activities (knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, etc.).
