Solution proposed by : la hount daffundas
The mission of “La Hount d’Affundas” is to “enable anyone who wishes to do so to experience a connection to the Earth while respecting all living things, through a vegetable garden and a small livestock farm, and an immersion in a preserved natural setting.”
Principles for our summer camps and nature trips (see attachment)
- The uniqueness of the association’s property lends a special character to stays at La Hount: a site in the heart of nature, on-site agricultural activities, and the absence of electricity… all contribute to creating a space of freedom, discovery, and learning.
- The decision to limit group sizes to small living groups (20 participants) fosters interaction, exchange, group cohesion, and the practice of citizenship.
- The substantial staff-to-child ratio (one staff member for every five children) ensures a special relationship with each child and high-quality work, both in terms of daily life and activity projects.
- The children’s participation in meal preparation, directly linked to the vegetable gardens and produce from the Coume farm, all using organic farming methods… Through food, participants have the opportunity to better understand the origin and production of the food they consume.
- The activity teams meet several days before each summer to discuss the educational project together and create new tools.
Our educational project
- To experience community life in a spirit of mutual aid, sharing, and openness.
- Offer activities that promote learning, and encourage “project-based learning” as much as possible.
- Living close to nature and learning to understand it better. Fostering physical, expressive, and imaginative development.
- Support each child in their development, while respecting differences.
