Structure : LA FEVE COIN
France
Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
Difficulty level :
La Fève is a complementary local currency created by citizens in the Toulon area of the Var region.
The development of a local currency in this region would contribute to the goal of preserving and reclaiming agricultural land by supporting the establishment of producers who use environmentally friendly practices.
The same applies to local shops and services in the secondary and rural areas of the Toulon region, which have been affected, on the one hand, by the concentration of economic activity in Toulon itself and neighboring towns, and on the other hand, by suburbanization, as rising land prices have pushed households to settle beyond these same municipalities.
It is by refocusing activity at the local level and creating new links between economic actors within the area defined by this new network of users that this currency will achieve its full coherence.
Project Objectives
Environmental
sustainability Environmentally friendly production and consumption practices that conserve resources.
Local
development Promoting short and fair supply chains from producer to consumer through a circular economy.
A more humane
economy Trading differently, in a spirit of cooperation, openness, and mutual respect.
Social
solidarity Ethical practices and local projects to foster the emergence of a more socially just and inclusive economy.
How it works
Convertibility
Its purpose is to encourage all professionals to bring their suppliers, colleagues, and others into the network, helping to create autonomous local loops of currency circulation.
Depreciation
A depreciating currency loses value over time, with each note having a defined validity period. This mechanism helps limit hoarding and increase circulation, thereby stimulating the local economy.
Purchase
Bonus This is a bonus applied when exchanging euros for local currency (e.g., €100 = 110 Fèves). It improves purchasing power if paid directly to the user, or supports local projects.
