A community education organization that advocates for and supports farmers

Solidarité Paysans 30, founded in 2002, is a community education organization that advocates for and supports farmers in need in the Gard department, providing free, confidential, and comprehensive assistance (out-of-court or judicial debt resolution, legal assistance, tax, accounting, social, and other matters).

 This support is provided in accordance with Solidarité Paysans’ core ethical principles. It is delivered by teams consisting of one staff member and one volunteer and is designed to promote the autonomy of those receiving support.

 The association also carries out complementary initiatives: digital support, support for change and toward self-reliance, women farmers’ groups, contributions to agricultural training programs, and the (co-)organization of events.

It is part of the regional network of Solidarité Paysans Occitanie and the national network of Solidarité Paysans (www.solidaritepaysans.org).

Support for farmers in the Gard department facing difficulties:

• Reception, active listening, assessment of the situation, implementation of tailored support (out-of-court or judicial debt resolution, administrative, legal, tax, social, and accounting assistance, etc.), follow-up, and evaluation of the support provided. This is done in collaboration with the association’s volunteers and partners, and by mobilizing the necessary available resources.
• Updating support tracking tools and sharing information with the team.
• Monitoring administrative and legal developments, news from the agricultural sector, and assistance programs for farmers, as well as information circulating within the Solidarité Paysans network.

Participating in training sessions on Solidarité Paysans’ ethical guidelines and on specific topics (collective proceedings, rural leases, social rights, etc.), as well as in analyses of team practices and partnership working groups.
