The Urban Oasis helps create spaces open to everyone while respecting ecosystems, enabling a reconnection with the living world and access to shared knowledge centered on being and doing together, in order to foster an inner transition.
The Urban Oasis is one of these initiatives that operate on the principle of working together, focusing more specifically on the topics of agroecology and permaculture. They contribute to the ecological transition by implementing solutions related to sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, and renewable energy.
Gardening
Vegetable Gardening: L'Oasis de Flaugergues features 1,500 m² of vegetable gardens, including a "traditional" vegetable garden, a mandala garden, a PPAM garden (fragrant, aromatic, and medicinal plants), and a keyhole garden. It also features a 70-square-meter nursery where you can learn how to sow and transplant.
Viticulture: They have 4,000 m² to guide you in learning how to prune and maintain grapevines, as well as to harvest grapes and participate in the early stages of winemaking.
Agroforestry: They maintain nearly 500 trees and shrubs in their forest garden, vegetable garden, and vineyard. These are fruit trees (apple, pear, peach, pomegranate, etc.) and Mediterranean species that contribute to the resilience of their ecosystem.
