Support for the sustainable management of small islands

The Small Islands Organization (SMILO) is an NGO that supports small islands of less than 150 km² seeking to move toward more sustainable territorial management.
Based on shared governance, SMILO promotes sustainable territorial development and innovation on the islands for the benefit of the populations and their environment.
SMILO focuses on sustainable solutions in the areas of water and sanitation, waste, energy, biodiversity, landscapes, and heritage.  Its objective is thus to reduce the impacts associated with human use and development, in order to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of natural resources and biodiversity.
