Description

The National Center for Agroecology (CNA) is a project led by stakeholders in the field of agroecology who pool their skills and expertise:

  • dissemination and exchange of knowledge,
  • training and technical support,
  • assessment and measurement tools to design and manage agroecological systems.

Discover the principles that guide the National Center for Agroecology in its White Paper, a unifying document summarizing its fundamentals, its vision, and its plans for the future.

Embarking on the transition

Our approach to initiating the transition is designed in stages:

  1. We believe in the importance of supporting farmers during the phase leading up to the transition, when they are questioning their practices.  This initial phase of familiarization and knowledge acquisition is essential. By providing access to accurate, applicable knowledge, as well as comprehensive feedback on experiences, we show them that it works!
  2. Engagement can then continue through testing innovative practices on small plots, through exchanges with other practitioners, and through the use of simple and accessible assessment tools. Training and support then serve as additional resources.
  3. Documenting these trials, successful trajectories, and the assessments provided during farm profiles—along with making them available—constitute the reference framework that helps raise awareness and train other farmers. The circle is complete!
