Furniture and textile recycling center and collaborative workshop

 Le Pétassou, a recognized public interest organization, is dedicated to collecting, sorting, repairing, and selling textiles and various items at fair and socially responsible prices:  staff and volunteers work at the recycling center, during collaborative repair workshops, and in the shops.

In 2022, Le Pétassou became a recycling center: sorting, repairing, and selling at a fair, conscious, and socially responsible price 19,000 pieces of textiles and various everyday items  (over 14 tons), but more than 30 tons sorted by the association’s staff and volunteers.

In 2022, a team of 4 employees, 12 board members, 46 volunteers, and 218 members.

- 2 shops in Sainte Croix Vallée Française and St Roman de Tousque open 3 days a week year-round: Tuesday and Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings.

- A workspace/workshop in Saint Roman de Tousque open to the public 5 days a week and a repair workshop for appliances, computers, and furniture.  Twice a month at the Piboulio and in the heart of the village of Sainte-Croix Vallée Française in partnership with the Foyer Rural.

- A mobile collaborative repair workshop in southern Lozère since October 2021

Management of a recycling bin at the waste collection site in partnership with the Cévennes Community of Communes in Mont Lozère and the SDEE: contributing to the reduction of consumption and waste production.

Management of the drop-off center’s bins: approximately 8 tons of sorted textiles per year in Sainte-Croix-Vallée-Française.
