A Federation of Associations, a History

Founded in 2010, Terre de Vie et Nature (TDVN 83) is a non-profit organization under the French Law of 1901 dedicated to raising awareness and providing education on the environment and sustainable development.  Independent of any political movement, it is part of a strong organizational network. At the national level, the association is affiliated with the France Nature Environnement (FNE) network, a national federation of nature and environmental protection associations;  FNE PACA is the regional branch, and TDVN 83 represents it in the East Var region. Furthermore, it recently joined the GRAINE PACA network.

A variety of activities

The association offers various activities in schools, including the educational and fun programs “La Rivière m’a dit,”  “La Maison du Bon’Air,” and “When I Eat, I Affect My Health and My Environment.”

Information and awareness campaigns on “Eco-gestures” broaden the scope of action by targeting vulnerable individuals at social centers. This module will soon be adapted and expanded to include businesses.

Through its various initiatives, such as the Sustainable Development Barometer, TDVN 83 is also at the heart of regional dialogues aimed at raising awareness and promoting environmental protection.

Events and Long-Term Partnerships

The association welcomes the general public at local events, such as the Fréjus Plant Festival.  Similarly, TDVN 83 responds to requests for activities from local authorities and organizations. For several years, it has been working with the 83 Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, for example, in the context of Outdoor Sports events.

Our activities: 

Activities, nature programs, and a variety of workshops for schools, businesses, local communities, and the general public, covering various themes (water, waste, biodiversity, energy, etc.).  We can tailor our programs to suit the audience, so please feel free to contact us for more information on our packages and rates.

The River Told Me: This educational program, developed by FRAPNA, is designed for students from preschool through high school. It is also aimed at groups of children, such as those at recreation centers.

The goal of this campaign is to enable children to explore a nearby waterway through nature activities close to home, as well as through simple and fun activities.  Young people become familiar with aquatic environments and the main ways humans use this resource.

Health Food Environment – When I eat, I affect my environment and my health

The traveling exhibition “When I eat, I affect my environment and my health” clearly and concisely addresses the impact of food on health, the environment, and the economy.  It aims to show that “everything is connected.” 

Sustainable Development Barometer: The Sustainable Development Barometer for the PACA region is a questionnaire designed for use by associations and municipalities.  It measures the commitment of municipalities in the region to sustainable and solidarity-based development: economy, solidarity, environment, and citizenship. Thanks to the barometer, associations meet with and share with their elected officials an assessment of local sustainable development practices to identify and carry out concrete actions together.
