La Base (Base for Social and Ecological Action) in Montpellier is a welcoming space for civic engagement dedicated to social justice, climate action, and the protection of life, open to everyone.

La Base is a project initiated by the Montpellier chapters of Alternatiba (now renamed Action Justice Climat in Montpellier), Greenpeace, and Extinction Rebellion. It was launched with the help of several donors during our crowdfunding campaign. Thank you to them!

Through workshops, training sessions, and festive events, La Base aims to grow citizen mobilization around climate and social justice issues. This mobilization is achieved through cooperation among our various movements, solidarity with local, national, and international struggles, and popular education.

La Base also welcomes businesses and civil society actors seeking to benefit from collective inspiration through its coworking spaces.

La Base was built around three main objectives related to its various activities:

• Organizing festive events, conferences, and training sessions centered around a community bar.
• Providing space for meetings of our groups and other associations. It also serves as an operational and logistical hub for local mobilization campaigns.
• Offering a shared workspace for businesses or collectives that share our values.

 La Base is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, as well as during events open to the public.
