Description

Taking Sustainable Action Against Food Waste

Pro-portion is a Toulouse-based nonprofit specializing in reducing food waste. For the past 10 years, it has been promoting food waste reduction by providing support to institutional and traditional food service operations, offering training for professionals, and organizing events for the general public.

Food waste occurs when edible food is lost or thrown away. It happens throughout the supply chain—from agricultural production to consumption—including storage, processing, distribution, and management.

As an environmental, ethical, and economic issue, food waste is one of the greatest challenges of our time.

Our Services

Support: Pro-portion offers support ranging from assessment to the implementation of measures designed to achieve tangible and sustainable results. This support helps effectively reduce food waste, costs, and the environmental impact of our food consumption. (initiative carried out at the CROUS Toulouse university dining hall)

The Gaspi’rale: Discover the Gaspi’rale, a creation of the Pro-portion association. Designed to make learning fun, this giant board game turns the fight against food waste into a truly shared experience.

Training: Pro-portion offers training programs on reducing food waste and sustainable eating. Reducing food waste requires raising awareness and educating consumers and professionals to change their behaviors and practices.
For local governments and institutions, it also helps ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Pro-portion was at the Maison du Bien Manger, inaugurated by our deputy mayor Jean-Jacques Bolzan. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue located in the heart of the Candie farm in Toulouse.
