CIGALES are solidarity-based investor clubs that support economic projects with a social, environmental, or cultural focus.
In addition to funding, CIGALES offers personalized support and networking opportunities—three key ingredients for the long-term success of these projects.
Launched in 1983, this grassroots initiative has gained momentum and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Each year in France, on average, 2,500 citizens—active members of one of the 200 Cigales clubs—save €600,000. This sum is then invested in 150 local business projects, thereby creating or sustaining more than 300 jobs across all regions.
Over five years, you’ll receive a financial contribution to your company’s capital, and possibly a contribution to your partner’s checking account.
If you start a business as a nonprofit organization, the contribution will include a right of repurchase.
If you operate as a sole proprietorship, an interest-free loan may be granted to you through the CIGALES club.
Your skills will be enhanced by the personalized support of club members, who will be available to assist you throughout the five-year support period. This will enable you to gain a broader perspective on your fledgling business.
