La Fourmilière is a buying cooperative based in and around Tulle and Lower Corrèze

Quality Products

We currently work with about fifty producers, roughly half of whom are in Corrèze, with the rest in neighboring departments and a few further afield.

We also source products from an organic supermarket and a cooperative. Some items are always in stock, while others are available intermittently.

The order catalog changes with each order

Ethical and Responsible

The products we offer are primarily food items, but also include hygiene and household cleaning products. We mainly offer organic or “eco-friendly” products (which meet our guidelines), produced locally whenever possible and at reasonable prices.

Most products are non-perishable.

Anyone is free to suggest new products as long as they comply with the “ant colony”

How does it work for the “ants” (members)?

All members are registered on Socléo. When placing an order, an order email contains all the information needed to order:

• an order schedule (meeting and distribution dates);
• attend the ordering meeting in person or send a representative;
• Payment by bank transfer within 15 days after the ordering meeting, or by check only on the day of the ordering meeting.
• Then, the main distribution takes place on a Sunday afternoon, about one month after the ordering meeting.

La Fourmilière has been in operation since 2008.
Today, we offer approximately 1,000 different products through two ordering rounds per year: one in the fall and one in the spring.

Nearly 200 households currently order from La Fourmilière, and the number is growing slowly but surely.
