Description

The purpose of the association is to protect, conserve, and restore natural spaces, resources, environments, and habitats; animal and plant species; ecological diversity and fundamental ecological balances; water, air, and soil; sites, coastlines, landscapes, and the living environment; to combat pollution and nuisances; to oppose the encroachment on rural and hiking trails; and, more generally, to act to safeguard its interests in the areas of the environment, harmonious and balanced land use planning, and urban planning.

Since 2004, the association has also been involved in school outreach programs

Learn

The Association De la Source à la Mer is active in:

  • Protecting the quality of raw water and drinking water.
  • The protection of beaches and the quality of bathing waters.
  • Protecting coastal and inland sites. Preserving natural areas.
  • Combating green tides.

Raising Awareness

We see it, we hear about it, we experience it:

  • The hazards of climate change (drought, rising sea levels, changes in biodiversity
    , etc.)
  • The consequences of unsustainable agriculture, intensive livestock farming, and the overuse of nitrogen fertilizers, phosphorus, and pesticides, which lead to poor water quality and health impacts…
  • Excessive urbanization, leading to a relentless decline in wetlands and natural areas that are home to numerous plant and animal species.

Protect

The Association De la Source à la Mer participates in numerous committees related to water quality and waste treatment (Launay Lantic plant).
We engage with our political authorities and all the municipalities in our department.
We have developed a partnership with SBAA (Saint Brieuc Armor Agglomération) to organize activities as part of school field trips titled “Au fil de l’Ic.”
With the participation of Eau et Rivière de Bretagne and Bretagne Vivante, we introduce about ten classes each year to:

  • Wetlands,
  • Flora and fauna,
  • The use of water power,
  • The need to protect this natural heritage.
