Description

We are a group of residents from the Dinan region committed to achieving food resilience in the Dinan metropolitan area amid ecological and social crises.

Our goals

To connect aspiring farmers seeking land with those looking to sell their farms.

To inform the general public about the challenges of food self-sufficiency and any other issues related to the climate emergency.

To promote the region’s self-sufficiency and resilience (creation of a farmers’ seed bank).

Advise and advocate with local elected officials to ensure greater consideration of food sovereignty issues.

RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS: PROMOTING INFORMATION, AWARENESS, AND CHANGE

  • Organizing informational events (screenings, conferences, etc.) and/or festive events (meals, concerts, etc.) focused on food and regional self-sufficiency
  • Meetings and screenings in schools, villages, or neighborhoods
  • Organizing “nature outings” to raise awareness about ways to protect flora and fauna
  • Building and managing a website with sourced and data-driven information on the region’s food self-sufficiency

CREATING ALTERNATIVES

  • land use and planting of trees and edible plants
  • creation of an eco-hub (featuring a community seed bank, a training center for professionals and hobbyists, and a vegetable garden)

RAISING AWARENESS AMONG ELECTED OFFICIALS

  • Organizing events and meetings
  • drafting and distributing advocacy materials
  • Exchanges and ongoing communication with mayors
  • Active and collaborative search for solutions
