Many people living in precarious circumstances have difficulty accessing clean, dry socks because these items are rarely donated. Many organizations are forced to purchase socks and regularly highlight this need.
At the same time, many households have single socks or unused pairs that are kept because they are unusable or have simply been set aside.
Our initiative
- Collection: Sock en stock first collects pairs of socks of all sizes. The socks you donate must be clean and dry, preferably in pairs.
- Sorting: Sock en stock then carefully sorts and washes the collected pairs. All collected pairs are systematically washed and disinfected to ensure they are clean and to eliminate any bacterial strains.
Once washed, pairs are matched during regular sorting workshops open to volunteers. - Distribution: Sock en stock finally carries out the charitable redistribution of the sorted pairs.
51,217 pairs distributed since September 2017. The free distribution of the pairs put back into circulation is carried out directly by the Sock en stock association on an ad hoc basis or is delegated to 68 partner organizations or associations, which are provided with boxes of pairs sorted by size
