Description

Are you interested in starting a community garden project? Would you like more information about community gardens and the support Passe-Jardins can offer? Group information sessions are held throughout the year.
Passe-Jardins’ strategy is implemented through the six areas of activity in its community project:

1- Project
support and guidance By continuing the momentum of creating community gardens, promoting the autonomy of gardening collectives, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of gardens through community
education 2- Working toward food and environmental
justice By managing the Envol social garden, creating vegetable gardens for food justice, building food and climate resilience, and developing a research focus on food and urban
agriculture 3- Fostering biodiversity and nature in the city
By expanding our citizen science activities and implementing specific landscaping features in community gardens.
4- Serving as a resource and training
center By disseminating resources and sharing knowledge
5- Increasing local
agency By affirming the role of PASSE-jardins, improving the visibility of community gardens, representing community gardens to partners at all levels, and coordinating the community
garden network 6- Internal governance at Passe-Jardins
Notably by developing volunteer efforts

Additional information

As an advocate for community gardens in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and a resource center, Passe-Jardins pursues a public interest mission enshrined in its bylaws, which is to:

to promote the creation and development of community gardens as tools for public education on the environment, ecology, citizenship, food, physical and mental health…”

As a leader in community education, Passe-Jardins aims to facilitate society’s transition toward a humanistic approach to ecology and to empower every individual to educate themselves alongside others, through an eco-citizen and eco-responsible approach that prioritizes experience and community.

In its 2021–2025 organizational plan, Passe-Jardins aims to spearhead a reconciliation between humans and nature and to be a key player in organizing collective citizen initiatives working toward landscape, plant, and food system transformation across our region.
